Data provided by CoinGecko

A saved snapshot that can be an hour old or more, built from prices delayed about 15 minutes. The full heatmap in the app opens each sector into one tile per stock, sized by trading volume and coloured by the day’s move.

How the heatmap is built

It uses the same list of stocks as the scanner: ~11,500 US stocks and ETFs. Prices are delayed about 15 minutes and are re-read about every 60 seconds during US market hours. Crypto pairs differ: Most crypto prices are re-read from CoinGecko about once a minute; a few pairs still carry a daily close, which can be several days old. Crypto scores are rebuilt about once a day where the data allows, so a score can be older than its price: each crypto page shows when its score was last computed, and a pair whose score stops updating leaves the ranked lists. We put every stock in one of the 11 standard market sectors, plus groups of our own for funds and ETFs, for crypto, and for the few stocks with no sector on file.

A sector’s number is the average 1-day move of its stocks, weighted by how much money traded in each (price × shares), so a giant like AAPL counts for more than a small, rarely traded stock. The colour has bands from dark green (up a lot) through plain (about flat) to dark red (down a lot), so you can see the pattern without reading every number.

The full heatmap in the app (Pro) opens each sector into one tile per stock, sized by trading volume and coloured by the day’s move; click a tile for its detail. For the market’s overall mood, see the market regime page.
